Kevin Fong will be taking us to space and beyond, as part of his Royal Institute Christmas lectures

This years Royal Institute's Christmas lectures will be given by CASE Medicine's Dr Kevin Fong. Focusing on his passion of space medicine, Kevin will be telling us "How to survive in space".

Taking place over three lectures, Kevin will take you on a journey from Earth, into the Low Earth Orbit and then beyond. Looking at how what we once saw in science fiction movies is now becoming science fact, he will tell you how humans have survived against all odds and answer questions on life, earth, the universe and our place within it.

Dr Fong will also be joined by ISS astronauts who will reveal what daily life is like 400 kilometres above the Earth, in which promises to be an out of this world event.

Tickets for the lectures are now available via the ticketing page of the Royal Institute. Tickets to the event are only available to young people aged 11 to 17. All adults must be accompanied by at least one young person.

As part of the Christmas lectures season, The Royal Institute are also running an online web chat series called I’m an Astronaut, Get me out of here, where members of the public can ask experts questions about anything space related. To join in the discussion visit the Royal Institute website

You can also watch past Christmas lectures on the Royal Institute website, including CASE Medicine's Professor Hugh Montgomery's series from 2007 where he looked at human endurance and the science of survival.
